“As metalheads, we get judged on a lot of things. The clothes, our hair, in some cases…hygiene, but most of all, our choices in music.
These things have always been society’s stigma on what the “Metal Culture” is, but couldn’t be more wrong. Most metalheads enjoy a wide range of music in many different styles and genres. Some deny it, while most don’t. To limit yourself to one “genre” would be criminal. To say you refuse to listen to bluegrass or the delta blues is fine, but keep in mind that it was funk, pop, blues, and punk that inspired the sound of bands such as White Zombie.
One of my secret passions in musical genres is that I have a soft spot for “Big Band” and “Doo Wop”. As someone who appreciates when a new band comes along to put a modern twist on older styles, I always keep my ear to the ground. That is how I came across Twin Temple: The Satanic Doo-Wop band you didn’t know you needed in your life.
